So much information pours out of the Electronic Entertainment Expo that it can be nearly impossible to keep track of it all. We’ve collected some of the most interesting pieces of information from Sony’s news conference so that you’ll know what to expect over the course of the next few months.

  1. “The Last Guardian” Release Date and Trailer

It looks as if “The Last Guardian” will come out on October 25, tactically timed for holiday sales. At the E3 press conference, attendees were able to see a fresh trailer showcasing the gameplay. The title promises to follow a boy and his companion, a gigantic creature named Tico that appears to be akin to winged wolf pup. Viewers got a brief glimpse of the fantasy world they can expect to explore and the massive monsters they will encounter when the game rolls out.

  1. “God of War” Announcement

As expected, Sony announced that “God of War” will be coming to PS4. The game will neither be a reboot nor will it bear the expected moniker of “God of War 4;” instead, it looks to be a role playing game that involves a much older Kratos teaching his son how to be a warrior. The rich Norse mythology, the inclusion of archery in the gameplay, and the potential for switching control between the two main characters makes this a title worth watching.

  1. PlayStation VR version of Final Fantasy XV

One stunning and exciting announcement at Sony’s press conference was the reveal of Final Fantasy 15 arriving in conjunction with the PlayStation VR. The magnificent, beloved Final Fantasy saga has been ongoing for decades, and its latest iteration looks intense and fascinating, with the usual touch of the whimsical. The fact that it will have a PlayStation VR version means that fans will get to experience the action in a far more immersive way than ever before. The trailer promises up-close and personal virtual reality that makes you feel as if you are right there with the other in-game characters. You’ll have to wait till September to experience it, though.

  1. “Death Stranded” Reveal

Sony also tossed a trailer for “Death Stranding” into the mix, introduced by talented game-master Hideo Kojima. “Death Stranding” stars Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon on The Walking Dead. The trailer reveals a strange, gritty, disturbing in-game world, and it is replete with images that leave viewers confused yet interested. There is no release date, and no additional information, but this mysterious PS4 title promises to be different— and in a gaming market glutted with similar titles, that could be a very good thing.

  1. PlayStation VR

Everyone was waiting for more PlayStation VR news, and Sony did not disappoint. The virtual reality system rolls out on October 13, 2016, just in time for Christmas shopping. It will be available for $399 and will have 50 launch titles, including Batman Arkham VR, Farpoint, a Star Wars Battlefront X-Wing mission, Resident Evil Biohazard, and more.

There were other big announcements and cool trailers packed into Sony’s press conference, including the reveal of “Resident Evil 7” and the “Resident Evil 7 Biohazard” PS4 demo. “Days Gone,” a PS4 biker/zombie game, is coming soon, as is a Spiderman game from Insomniac, the developer of “Ratchet & Clank.” The trailers for “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare,” “Lego Star Wars 7,” “Horizon: Zero Dawn,” and “Detroit: Become Human” all played on the massive screens at the press conference, whetting the appetites of PS4 gamers worldwide.

Did you watch the press conference? Which new game are you most excited to try? Tell us in the comments.

My favourite gaming console is the PS4, of course, and in my spare time I love to write.
