With July nearly at an end, it’s time to take a look at the games which featured this month…

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
Originally released on PC in 2014, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first person, horror, adventure game that takes place in 1973’s Red Creek Valley, Pennsylvania.  The location is an important focus, and is a vital portion of the game, as the core gameplay gives you the ability to explore wherever you want. Use your detective and paranormal abilities to solve puzzles and discover clues, which will allow you to find out what horrible actions took place in a beautiful and photorealistic world.

Journey

Journey
Finally making its way over to the PS4, Journey is an adventure game that has won several awards since its original release on the PS3 in 2012.  It’s an atmospheric game with a beautiful soundtrack, and an interesting multiplayer mechanic, which keeps you anonymous while you help passing strangers as you travel through the desert.  Now you can relive the experience, or enjoy it for the first time, all with even better graphics on the PS4.

Hatoful Boyfriend

Hatoful Boyfriend
Originally a game made for April Fool’s Day back in 2011, this visual novel / dating simulator about birds has made its way over to the PS4.  If you’re into weird games that give you a laugh, or you’re really into birds, you should check this game out.

God of War III Remastered

God of War III Remastered
As we wait for the holiday season and the games that follow, it’s not such a bad idea to go back and enjoy some of our favorites from the last generation.  But why go back to graphics from the past, when you can enjoy those games (since they keep getting remastered) on the PlayStation 4?  God of War III is one of those games, putting you back in the shoes of Krytos, on his adventure to bring down the gods.  If you enjoy violent, action packed and adventure, then this is a game for you.  If ripping a god’s head off with your bare hands, or throwing a woman into turning gears makes you a bit ill, then perhaps not.

Rocket League

Rocket League
A short burst of enjoyment that reminds us of the good old days, with the original Twisted Metal games… In Rocket League you play as super boosted RC cars in a soccer-like arena (with futuristic components, which include a wall and ceiling). You have a simple objective; get the ball into the opponent’s goal as many times as you can, before the five minute match comes to an end.  It’s a game that shows simplicity, can be fun, and with the right controls, camera angles, and explosions, Rocket League delivers are great experience.
