New Vampire-Themed Video Game Will Be Released On PS5 In 2022, But What Else Can You Play?

The video gaming community knew it was inevitably coming, but Sharkmob’s early access to its new battle royale vampire game has finally come to an end. An early access version of the battle royale game was released for Microsoft Windows in September, but now PC users will have to wait until the new year to play the game again. In 2022, the game will also be made available on PlayStation 5 for the first time.

Hello Bloodhunt community! Bloodhunt’s Public Early Access: Founder’s Season has now come to an end, and we’d like to thank everyone who has participated in this first phase of development!
We can’t wait to see you in Prague again in 2022 on PC and PlayStation 5!— Bloodhunt (@Bloodhunt) November 22, 2021

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt is an adaption of the 1991 tabletop role-playing game of the same name. Bloodhunt takes place in Prague after a vampire gathering in the city, and the players take on the role of the vampires as they fight for survival and try to hide their identities from humans, which is a practice the game calls the Masquerade. The early access version of Bloodhunt has been well-received, with Game Informer, a reputable monthly video game magazine, calling the game intriguing and full of potential. Now that Bloodhunt’s public early access is over, what are vampire obsessed gamers going to do until the battle royale game is released on PC and PlayStation 5 next year?

What Are The Alternatives?

Fortunately, other gaming niches have capitalised on the long-standing fascination people have with vampires. For instance, there are dozens of vampire-themed mobile games, such as the Dark Legends role-playing game designed for iOS, Chrome, and Android mobile devices. In this game, players take on the role of the vampire and defend their master against anyone trying to bring them down, which includes fighting off hungry zombies.

Similarly, there are also vampire-themed casino games. In fact, according to the review site Casino Smash, one of the top slots to play in 2021 is NetEnt’s Blood Suckers. This slot is based on the eerie creatures from European folklore and it consists of five reels and three rows, as well as 25 paylines. Blood Suckers is also one of the few online casino games with real money offerings, as it is a low volatility game that offers a high return to player percentage (98%). In other words, the vampire-themed casino game is worth biting into just for the bonuses, let alone the gory graphics.

For centuries, people have been fascinated by the idea of vampires. Countless books, movies, and television shows have been made about the undead creatures, most notably, Bram Stoker’s 1897 classic novel Dracula, which provided the foundation for the modern-day vampire. Video games have primarily adopted the modern legend, and the fact that in 2022, more vampire-themed video games are being released demonstrates that these fictitious entities are still popular within mainstream media.

Of course, gamers are going to be sad the early access to Sharkmob’s vampire-themed battle royal game is over. However, there are plenty of other gaming niches that cater to this demographic. Besides, 2022 is not that far away, so gamers will be playing Bloodhunt on PC and PlayStation 5 in no time.
