The Best PS4 Console Bundles

When I got my PS4, it was bundled with a physical copy of “GTA V” and a digital download of “The Last of Us Remastered”. Having played both of these games on last gen consoles, it was still awesome to see how they looked on my shiny new console, and I still play “TLOU” to this day. Unfortunately, the bundle is a little bit harder to find now, but that’s the nature of console bundles- they come and go, and if you don’t grab them when they’re first available, you may not get a chance in the future. But if you’re looking to buy a PS4, getting a console bundle is the best way to go. As of writing, there are a few bundles on the market and one that’s about to be released, and I’ll go over each of them briefly.

The “1TB, PlayStation TV and Destiny” Console Bundle

PS4-1TB-Destiny-PSV-BundleIt’s a brand new bundle which is currently available at selected retailers including Amazon UK. Both PS TV and Destiny are included, making this a great value bundle. The huge HDD is perfect for those planning to store lots of data, games, apps, movies and more on their PS4. This bundle appears to be unique to the UK, and isn’t expected to be around for too long.

The “Batman: Arkham Knight” Limited Edition Console Bundle

500GB PlayStation 4 Batman Arkham Knight Bundle Limited EditionIf you’re a fan of Batman and have some extra money to spend, this is an awesome bundle to snatch up. Depending on where you shop, you can find the bundle for just $50 more than a regular PS4, but this version comes with a steel grey console that has an awesome faceplate featuring a graphic of Batman, Bat-symbol highlighted and cape flowing in an unseen wind. In addition, the limited edition silver controller is sleek-looking, accented with the matte black of the normal controller. You also get a copy of “Batman: Arkham Knight”, which was arguably one of the best games of 2015. There is also a normal “Arkham Knight bundle”, which is $400 and still comes with the game, but no unique console, faceplate or controller.

The “Destiny: Taken King” Limited Edition Console Bundle

500GB PlayStation 4 Console - Destiny The Taken King Limited Edition Bundle

This one doesn’t release until September 15th, but it looks like it’s well worth the wait. The console and controller are a sleek glacier white, and the console itself features a really slick-looking “Destiny” graphic on the front. Unlike the “Arkham Knight” console, which simply comes with a faceplate, the actual console of the “Taken King” edition PS4 is decked out in a simplistic yet stunning piece of artwork. Featuring a grey map that’s centered around a gold logo and “Destiny” written across the top, the console definitely looks cool. And since “The Taken King” hasn’t been released yet, preordering the console gets you a bunch of preorder bonuses. In addition to the unique console and controller, you of course get a copy of the legendary edition of “Destiny: The Taken King” as well. For $60 more, you can get a version of the bundle that comes with a second glacier white controller.

“The Last of Us: Remastered” Console Bundle

PlayStation 4 Console with Free The Last of Us Remastered VoucherThe most basic of the PS4 console bundles, this one doesn’t come with a unique console- you’re getting the generic black PS4 (which, don’t get me wrong, is still a very aesthetically pleasing piece of technology) and a black controller. The only other bonus you’re getting is a copy of “The Last of Us: Remastered”. Depending on where you shop, this could either be a physical or digital copy. The game is a ton of fun either way, and if you’re not interested in Arkham Knight or Destiny and you haven’t played “TLOU” yet, you definitely need to pick it up. Arguably one of the best games on the PS3, the remastered version features updated graphics that immerse you in the unique story of the game even more. Equally thrilling, scary and rewarding, “TLOU” is worth a playthrough, so don’t count this bundle out just because it’s not as flashy as the others.

The “Darth Vader Limited Edition” Console Bundle

DarthVaderSWBF1This console bundle won’t be available until November, and it’s not going to be easy to get hold of. That’s mainly because it looks absolutely awesome and will be a limited edition. The Dualshock 4 controller will have a unique colour code with white, red and blue variations. The touchscreen button will also have the Star Wars logo wording on it. What’s more, four Star Wars classics will be included along with a copy of Star Wars Battlefront Deluxe Edition.
