Two PS4 ‘Pro’ Controllers Arriving This Christmas

Those who consider themselves as a competitive gamer are sure to be attracted to Sony’s upcoming Pro controllers. Arriving later this year, Sony has announced two controllers; the Razer Raiju and Nacon Revolution.

Both pads are chunkier than the DualShock 4 controller and resemble that of Microsoft’s Xbox Elite controller. It seems important to remember, however, that these are simply licenced by Sony and are actually made by Razer and Nacon.

The official DualShock 4 controller is an all-round controller that serves fantastically well for all purposes, and this is why these pro controllers are designed for a specific gamer in mind.

The Razer Raiju

Those who wish to customise buttons are sure to be attracted to the Raiju. Sharing a similar appearance to that of Sony’s DualShock 4, this pad is a little chunkier, provides media buttons and allows for better grip thanks to the removable rubber joystick caps. Two custom profiles will allow the user to easily switch between – creating the perfect gaming experience for gamers who enjoy the deeper levels of customisation.

The Nacon Revolution

the-nacon-revolutionTaking on a similar appearance to Microsoft’s Elite controller, things are somewhat different with this pad – very non-PlayStation in style. For example, the joysticks are positioned differently, one upper left and the other lower right. However, this pad is designed more towards e-sport fans and will provide stronger customisation options than the Razer Raiju. In fact, the user will be able to use a PC app to re-map buttons and alter the analog/trigger sensitivity – all switchable with up to four profiles. You’ll probably notice the direction pad, which is 8 directional, allowing for increased accuracy from the traditional 4 directions offered by the DS4. What’s more, you’ll find four extra shortcut buttons on the rear of the Nacon Revolution.

Arriving this Christmas, you won’t have long to wait before you can get your hands on either of these products. As for the price, this is still to be confirmed, but it seems reasonable to expect the Razer to be around $100 and the Nacon stretching between $130-200.

Both controllers offer unique capabilities. What is your opinion on the Razer Raiju and Nacon Revolution? Be sure to leave your valuable comments and feedback within the comment section below.
