7 PS4 Games With Amazing Graphics

One of the most exciting aspects of learning about a next-gen console is seeing what the new hardware can do graphics-wise. Now that the Ps4 has been out for a little while, developers have had a chance to get used to the console and really show what it can do in the visual department. If you play games for the graphics, you’ll want to check out this list of 7 games (in no particular order) that draw you into their worlds through absolutely beautiful graphics.

The Order: 1886

If you want to experience some of the finest graphics that you’ll currently find as an 8th gamer, then look no further, The Order: 1886 is the one. Whilst gameplay didn’t live up to the same quality, it’s the graphics which make this game so special. The gameplay was mediocre, but what a gem this one could have turned out to be.

Batman: Arkham Knight

This game is unquestionably gorgeous. When you’re gliding through the skies of Gotham as Batman, your billowing cape silhouetted by the moon as rain streaks past you, you can’t help but admire the beauty of what you’re seeing. And when you’re tearing through the grimy streets below in the Batmobile, neon signs flashing by at breakneck speeds and smoke clouds flying up from your squealing tires as you smash through concrete walls halfway through a physics-defying powerslide, you forget for a moment that you’re playing a game and instead feel as if you’re actually in Gotham. There’s a key moment a little more than halfway through the game where the entire feel of the city changes, and it’s eerie to glide above… well, I don’t want to ruin it, but you should know that the graphics play a big part in how cool this section of the game feels.

DriveClub

Driveclub
Described as the best looking 8th gen racing game by many, Driveclub offers some amazing weather effects and realistic car racing. Sadly, gameplay isn’t in the same league as the visuals, meaning you’ll want to pay even deeper attention to what makes this game so great; the graphics.

Far Cry 4

Far Cry 4
One of the earlier games released for the PS4, this one still is pretty impressive in the graphics department. Like “Arkham Knight”, the graphics play a big part in immersing you in the world that your character inhabits. Unlike “Arkham Knight”, though, this game is full of bright, beautiful colors instead of the darker pallet that’s usually associated with Batman. You’re in the Himalayas in “Far Cry 4,” and everything from the cheery alpine flowers to the snow-capped mountains in the background looks great. When you’re screaming through the sky with your wingsuit and the colors start to blur, you really feel like you’re traveling at insane speeds, and as you stalk an enemy through thick underbrush, the textures on even the smallest leaves look great.

Infamous: Second Son

Infamous Second Son
Another oldie-but-goodie, “Infamous” is an open world adventure game that does one thing better than any other game on the PS4, and that’s lighting. Capturing the feel of dynamic lighting in a city environment can be hard to do, but when it’s done right, you more-often-than-not find yourself not playing the game, but simply admiring it. “GTAV” gets an honorable mention here, but “Infamous” (with its super powers that introduce a whole new type of lighting by themselves) definitely takes the cake. The game is just hands-down pretty.

The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3
Whether you’re exploring the countryside or fighting a giant monster, “The Witcher 3” definitely shows off what the PS4 is capable of graphically. Unlike the other games on this list, “Witcher” has a huge variety of environments, and each of them was designed meticulously to ensure that every last nook and cranny of the world looks great. When a game doesn’t even need to use pre-rendered cutscenes to market itself, you know the graphics are something to note, and “The Witcher 3” definitely used a lot of in-game footage to show us what we’d be getting into. This one will be talked about for a long time not only because of how good of a game it is, but just because it looks so damn good.

Killzone: Shadowfall

Killzone Shadowfall
There’s a moment very early on in this game that almost makes you want to set the controller down and just take in the beauty of what you’re seeing (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you play it). The best part is that the graphics don’t let up for the rest of the experience. For the most part, Killzone has always been known for its graphics, from the glowing eyes of the enemy soldiers to the fire and destruction that plague the landscape you’re fighting in, and this one takes things one step further. Definitely a must-play for gamers who appreciate a good looking experience.
