The Best 4K TVs to Pair with the PS4 Pro

With the recent announcement of the PS4 Pro, gamers have been getting excited to really make the most of modern technology by enjoying their favorite games in 4K resolution. In order to prepare for the PS4 Pro’s release, you yourself may be looking to buy a 4K TV in order to take advantage of the ultra high definition graphics that the Pro is capable of handling. If so, look no further than this list to learn about the best 4K TVs on the market in 2016! First, though, let’s look at what’s so special about 4K to begin with…

What is 4K?

Also called “Ultra High Definition (UHD)” or “2160p,” 4K is basically the highest definition TV that you can buy right now. 1080p used to be the gold standard, but a 4K image is four times more clear than the 1080p HD that you’re used to. Regular HDTVs are 1920 pixels wide by 1080 pixels tall, while 4K TVs are 3840 x 2160.

When researching 4K TVs, you may com across the term HDR (High Dynamic Range). HDR is essentially a feature which maximizes brightness and increases the color spectrum that the TV uses, making for jaw-droppingly clear and crisp pictures. You may also hear OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) being thrown around. OLED basically means that every pixel in the TV lights up independently, removing the need for a backlight and allowing the manufacturer to make the TV extremely thin.

Now that you know a little bit about 4K, let’s get to the list!

Samsung KS9500 range: The Curved Option

If you’re into the new fad of curved televisions, you can’t go wrong with the Samsung KS9500s. These TVs are simply stunning, providing one of the best pictures you can get on the market today… at a high price, of course. If you have the money to spare, though, just imagine playing a gorgeous 4K PS4 game on an 88 inch curved 4K HDR screen…The KS9500s provide a brighter picture and more dynamic colors than any other 4K TV on the market, and there really are no major downsides to the range… other than the cost.

LG OLED B6P: The Best OLED

In true OLED fashion, the LG B6 is incredibly thin (.018 inches thick, to be exact), making it perfect for mounting. It also happens to provide one of the most stunning pictures that you could imagine from a TV. Just like the KS9500s, this superior picture comes at a high cost, but while there are cheaper 4K TVs on the market, none of them will immerse you quite like the B6. This is the TV you buy if you want the best of the best and have the money to spend on it. There is both a 55” and 65” option.

Vizio M-Series: Affordable 4K

While the last two TVs are incredibly pricey, the Vizio M-Series is very affordable for the incredible resolution that you can get from it. Sure, you’ll still have to drop around $800 just for the 50 inch, but that’s pretty much the least that you can pay for a true 4K experience. The best part is that while Vizio used to be known as a budget manufacturer, they’ve really come a long way in improving their products, and the M-Series is the perfect example of that. All of the M-Series TVs come with an Android tablet for the main remote, which can be a pain to use… but is still a free tablet!

Sony XD9305 range: Brand Loyalty

What better way to enjoy your Sony PS4 Pro than on a Sony TV? The fact that the XD9305 series is decently priced and has an absolutely mesmerizing picture certainly helps! The XD9305 range uses dual lights to provide incredible HDR imaging and while it’s not as thin as an OLED screen, both the 55 and 65 inch models are lightweight and easy to mount. Even if you get the TV before you get your PS4 Pro, you’ll be pleased to know the XD9305 upscales normal HD excellently.
