Upcoming PS4 RPG’s To Put on Your Pre-order List

There’s nothing out there that’s able to really deliver a truly epic sense of adventure like a great role-playing game.  Since you’re reading this it’s safe to assume that you’re one of the many gamers who were immediately drawn to the incredible opportunities for exploring the unknown offered by RPG”S, right?  Also, there’s the diversity and myriad methods you can often interact with the world in an RPG, offering up the kind of experience that a FPS simply cannot deliver.  Regardless, with a number of good games under its belt, the PS4 is long overdue for some really great role-playing titles.   In short, it seems as though that’s exactly what’s headed our way.  Here are some of the upcoming Playstation 4 RPG’s you’ll definitely want to consider sticking on your pre-order list…

Natural Doctrine

Natural-Doctrine
First up we have “Natural Doctrine”, which as its title implies is all about the concept of natural selection.  All you really need to know about this one is that it’s going to offer up some steep difficulty and feature a fantasy and magic theme in a world where humans do battle with many other races.  Naturally (pun intended), anyone who loved Dark Souls (1 or 2) is going to love this.

Lords of the Fallen

Lords of the Fallen
Speaking of “Dark Souls-like” games, there’s “Lords of the Fallen”.  This upcoming title has actually been called something of a Dark Souls clone, even though it is indeed built on original concepts.  The main aim of the game (aside from providing excellent hack and slash action) is apparently to make difficult games “more accessible”.   Needless to say, if you want fantasy action replete with combat with gigantic, fearsome and gruesome-looking enemies, Lords of the Fallen will no doubt tickle your fancy in more ways than one.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age Inquisition
Bioware is no stranger to developing awesome RPG franchises, they did after all, bring us the legendary Mass Effect series.  One of their other ventures, the Dragon Age series, has received a somewhat muted response by comparison. Nevertheless, it is a great RPG franchise with a lot to offer, with this third installment pretty much set to sum up what its predecessors had to offer.  In other words, if Dragon Age is your cup of tea, expect Inquisition to be incredibly awesome indeed.

The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online
The Elder Scrolls series has been a regular fixture on the RPG circuit ever since it first appeared.  Clearly, Bethesda and crew really know what they’re doing when it comes to providing a gripping, intense and immersive experience.  That’s what makes the Elder Scrolls Online all the more intriguing of course – it’s a bona-fide MMORPG.  Whereas previous entries had you going it alone all the time, now you can team up and take on fantastical foes.  Additionally, since this release is coming a bit later for the PS4, you can count on it being a bit more updated and refined, perhaps.  Simply put, if you’re an RPG fan and like epic adventures, stick this one on your preorder list now.

Hand of Fate

Hand of Fate
Next up we have an RPG that all the card sharks are going to love, it’s called “Hand of Fate”.  Basically, the game centers around the sort of Dungeons and Dragons / Magic: the Gathering –style play that many might already be familiar with, but here we have it in video game form.  However, rather than being yet another imitation of a real card game encounter we are treated to actual realized environments and combat.  In other words, this game seems to be poised to take things for the next level for fans of card-based role-playing action, suitable for video gamers and board game fans alike.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3 Wild HuntA lot has been said about “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”, with some claiming that it is going to be a “Skyrim Slayer” and others adamant to think that it’s just another RPG offering.  Well, if you simply go check out a few gameplay demos and available highlights you’ll quickly see just how promising this title actually looks.  Not only does it possess stellar graphics, great-looking environments, a very large map and a suitable story, but it also plays heavily on traditional RPG themes.  For many, this looks as if it might very well end up being THE game to get.   Adventure, exploration, incredible detail, great combat……what’s not to like?

Shiness

Shiness
“Shiness” is a game that will work in tandem with a Manga series (an incredibly novel idea unto itself), offering up neat, classic colorful action.  One of the major selling points here obviously is the charming nature of Shiness and the highly animated manner in which the game is presented.  It sets you up to explore a massive land filled with all sorts of wonders where you’ll meet and interact with plenty of interesting characters.
