Semispheres Review

If you are a fan of puzzle based games, then you will want to take a look at Semispheres as being an option for you. This is a game that often times is sought out for a number of reasons that appeal to players. There are a lot of things that a player will find as being attractive to them to play this type of game. Let’s take a look at why this game has such a big following with players and how it will be a more sought out option as the years pass.

One thing that stuck out for me was the fact that the game has a duel setup where the player is controlling two fireball looking balls. These are controlled individually with a controller on each side. The goal is to get the balls to a vortex like area. This sounds easy enough, but the trick is doing this with one alone not two types of these balls. Your skills will be put to the test as you will have to navigate some very difficult puzzles and therefore with two balls that you are in control of, makes things a lot more difficult.

One thing that you will discover is the fact that timing is key to the success of this game. If you are not fast enough, the simplest of puzzles will take forever to complete. That is one of the things that I found to be amazing with this game is the mere fact that there is a challenge to every puzzle no matter how simple it looks. While I overall love the game, there are some areas that I think serious improvements can be made.

The first area that I would say some improvements need to be made is is in the area of the length. While there are 13 levels and each level has several puzzles that need to be solved, the average person can finish the whole game in less than an hour. I think that this is an area where serious improvements can be made. So even a novice puzzle player will find this to be way to fast in terms of a game.

Another area of improvement is the fact that there is no way to start out on the easy level and work up from there, you are tossed in and expected to simply make it on the default level no matter your experience level. So, if you find it too easy, then that means you will be done a lot sooner. And vice versa. This is one drawback that you need to think about.

The last thing is that there is no real value to having you replay a level once you are finished. This will lead a lot of players to not be real inclined to want to come back and replay a level that they barely got past the first time.

No matter what you may think about this game, you will want to go out and get a copy of this game for your PS4. It is a fun game that has music that you will find very meditative if you are into that kind of thing.
