5 PS VR Games I can’t wait to Experience

With most of the juicy details about PlayStation VR now available and out of the way, it’s time to start focusing on the games that will be available to enjoy. Apart from the amazing technology, it’s the growing list of titles which will become one of the main attractions to owning this headset. So, let’s take a look over five titles that I’m ready to experience.

PlayStation VR Worlds

Developed by SCE London Studio, here you get five different experiences all bundled into one single game. It will be included with every PS VR purchase – ultimately designed to give you an initial kick-start to your new virtual reality experience. Here’s a quick run-down of each.

  • VR Luge

VR-Luge-2

If you aren’t aware, born in Southern California, street luge is an activity which involves riding on a sled down a course. Imagine lying down on a skateboard travelling at intense speeds, that’s what this activity is all about. With this said, VR Luge replicates this scenario, except for one thing, your course will actually be street roads which entertain vehicles as obstacles. As you power down a scenic Californian street, your objective is to weave between oncoming traffic and prevent becoming roadkill. VR Luge looks stunning and is sure to get your adrenalin pumping.

  • The London Heist

The London Heist

As the name probably suggests, it’s a gangster based game set in the suburbs of London. Full of fast-paced action, The London Heist might remind you of The Getaway series, which, in fact, is the inspiration behind this game. If you ever wondered what it’s like to be a gangster, then this experience will definitely keep you entertained as you undertake a nail-biting robbery. You’ll be able to use The London Heist with PS Move controllers or a DualShock 4 controller, the choice will be yours.

  • Into The Deep

Into The Deep psvr

Ever imagined dropping down into the depths of the oceans from where huge sharks lurk? Probably not. That’s why this experience is set to be rather amazing. You’ll encounter a variety of sea life, from small to huge, but you’ll be thankful that there is a cage surrounding you ensuring you aren’t eaten alive.

  • Danger Ball

dangerball psvr

Based around a futuristic sport, you’ll need to use your head in order to strike and spin the ball. Be careful, however, as failing to win will result in your death. Your aim is to become the champion, but rivals will have specific abilities to utilise, making it a rather challenging affair.

  • Scavenger’s Odyssey

Scavenger’s Odyssey

This experience is centered on a sci-fi adventure where you play as a treasure hunter. Your spacecraft will allow you to navigate throughout the dangerous environments. Interestingly, this is the only experience on the list to work with the DualShock 4 controller primarily.

Designed to show off the capabilities of PS VR, this collection is sure to be visually impressive and loaded full of head turning action. Whilst all of the experiences on this list look amazing, it’s VR Luge and Into The Deep which I’m most excited to test.

Snow

Snow psvr

It’s about time a snowboarding game hit the PS4, right? What ever happened to the SSX series? Drifting down a mountain at supersonic speed combined with the PS4’s great graphics is something I’d like to see. However, Snow will do all of this within a virtual experience. It is set to become the first open-world mountain game where snowboarding, skiing and snowmobiling can all be enjoyed. Developed around the CryEngine, the visuals are expected to be stunning. An exclusivity deal with Sony means that this title won’t be heading to other platforms anytime soon. It’s the lack of games currently available within this genre that should make this title all the more exciting to play. So, If you’ve never been skiing, you don’t have long to wait.

Allison Road

Allison Road psvr

Horror fans, this is one for you to take note of. Allison Road might have elements which resemble P.T. However, you aren’t restricted to a corridor, but rather an entire house. Your family has disappeared and your objective is to uncover mysteries with the aim of understanding where your family might be. Most of your time will be spent within the British town house, however, many dark entities are lurking around to give you a nasty surprise. As things unravel, you’ll begin to question what is real and what is not. Sure to give you a seriously eerie experience, Allison Road looks to scare the hell out of you.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood

Until Dawn Rush of Blood

Until Dawn was the beginning of a new PlayStation exclusive horror series, it was a title that explored a new way of which a game-narrative could unfold, something rarely seen before. Bringing a movie-plot theme to how the story unravels, your decisions affect how things pan out. With that said, this first person virtual twist won’t contain the unfolding story themed gameplay as with the original release, but will offer a rather more mission-based arcade feel. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is sure to provide a great extension to the first release, however, it has a twist. You’ll be transported through levels on an underground mine train, which is purposely designed to keep the controls simple. The aim of the game is to shoot at terrifying ghosts and dangers. As you encounter many familiarities found throughout Blackwood Pines, it’s having the first-person view from the characters which will bring along this new exhilarating experience.

RIGS: Mechanized Combat League

RIGS Mechanized Combat League

If the idea of piloting huge mechanical machines sounds compelling, then this is probably a title you’ll want to experience. These huge machines are known as RIGS and it’s your job to create and utilise your very own combat style. The aim of the game is to master your RIG and declare victory within the arena. Not just limited to a single player experience, you’ll also have the ability to battle others online, generating very competitive multiplayer matches. What’s more, you will be able to form teams through the Mechanized Combat League. The visuals look stunning and the real-world locations are sure to add realism to a futuristic theme. For me, one of the main attractions here is the ability to battle it out online.
